Dorm Drama Nightmares

On Tuesday of this week, I finally received my housing assignment! This can be both an exciting and nerve wracking time for any college student. Well, unfortunately, my worst nightmares came true. I was assigned one of the smallest and crowded dorms on my college’s campus! Now, I don’t mean to complain, but there is little to no storage, and our lofted beds can’t be de-bunked, which is scary for someone who’s almost 6 feet tall and delirious in the morning. I’ll need to invest in some more concealer for the bruises I receive on my head!

I’m not going to lie; I definitely grieved for a little while. But then I let my creative side take over. I’ve revamped all my storage Ideas, and am taking it on as a challenge to still make my room comfortable and livable.
Also, living on a floor with a lot of people once seemed daunting, but now I’m viewing it as a possibility to meet a lot of people all in one place. This is awesome, because meeting new friends was definitely one of my biggest fears.
Even if I end up hating my room, or my roommate, or even all of my quad mates, It’ll push me to stay on campus more, meaning more time at the library and attending every single one of my classes. Not to mention all the clubs and activities I’ll be forced to join and volunteer for! So no matter what, I know I will be set to do amazingly with my academics and social activities!
I wrote this hoping that if some one else was going through some similar dorm room drama, they would try to take it upon themselves to see the benefits of the situation. No matter where you’re living or who you’re living with, you can have an awesome college experience, and honestly, it’s up to you to make it that way!
Keep Smart and Keep Sassy!

  1. Haha, sounds exactly like the room I'm going to live in.. and I know what you mean, I am 5'11 and really hope that my roommate is okay with me sleeping in the bottom bed. I really don't want to crawl up and down the ladder all the time...
